ROOM PARENT INFORMATION:

Many parents have questions about how to get involved at Creekside. Being a room parent is one way to help, but certainly is not the only way!

Room parent sign up comes out via Sign Up Genius from our principal right at the start of the school year. Be watching for this email/notification! You must be Tier 3 certified and cannot serve as a room parent for more than one class.

Here are some general responsibilities:

  • Send Introduction Email to Class: Room Parent(s) should send an introduction email to the class via your teacher.
  • Class Parties: 2 class parties: Holiday and End of Year. Each room parent may attend ONE
  • Reach out to your teacher about classroom needs: Be familiar with your Teacher Favorites List and/or Amazon Wish List
  • Celebrate teacher birthdays and/or holidays
  • Monthly teacher lunch: Help coordinate monthly lunches for your teachers via sign up genius
  • Silent Auction Baskets: The PTA runs a silent auction in conjunction with the Otterfest (in the Fall) and room parents help plan and collect for their class backet
  • Grade level/Related Arts and Administrative Pairings: Each grade is paired with a staff area at the school. Help coordinate a treat or snack for this area a few times a year

If you are not a room parent, there are other ways to be at the school and help out.

Including:

  • Workroom volunteer
  • Cafeteria volunteer
  • Attend field trips as a chaperone
  • Serve on a committee – GREAT option for working parents or parents with less flexibility in their schedule
  • Volunteer for PTA events – Otterfest, Fun Run, Donuts with Grown-Ups and more!

BE SURE TO GET TIER 3 CERTIFIED THIS SUMMER
